a body/wave perm is one that doesn't really add curl, but more waves..or really really lose curls. it's supposed to give hella straight hair a bit of curl to it.

DONT DO IT!!! I had one at the best place in Savannah Georgia. It doesnt matter where you get one done, it will FRY your hair. I got mine done 2 years ago and I am STILL dealing with the damage. Your hair will be breaking and it will be stringy and it is just terrible. My advice is to get a good straightner with a high heat option. Also buy some heat protectant. After a couple months your hair will begin to go straight. trust me. after my chemical straightner, my hair started going curly again and i started doing that. Hope this has been helpful!

However, what does seem to be true is that there aren't very many places to get your hair done, here. Further there aren't many stores that offer boutique brand hair supplies (i.e. Curls, Carol's Daughter, Myhoneychild, etc.) and the products that I have seen aren't quality (i.e. they have petroleum etc. in them). I haven't seen many healthy heads of relaxed hair and besides braids, I haven't seen anyone other than myself wearing natural styles.





I think its telling that most of the ';afro'; salons have weave in the windows or their websites have pictures of white ladies getting extensions. If you are adventurous, you might try inquiring about the US military bases or in the larger cities. IF you are really willing to travel, I would suggest a plane trip to London. There are lots of salons there, I hear.

I personally went into a salon in the Langemarckstrasse to ask about the relaxer, and the hairdresser confirmed that they do have it. There are Africans from Ghana (mainly), Togo, Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Niger and Nigeria to name a few. There are also a few Gospel Churches for the African community here in Bremen.

You certainly have a mission on your hands. Because you should always go to a salon thats familiar with your hair type and you probably wont be able to do that

There is one that I used to go to that's called Australia Tan on Blossom Hill and Almaden across from Denny's. It's in the shopping center with Payless, Togo's, Baja Fresh, and Tap Plastics. I don't know what they charge per session anymore cause I haven't been there for a couple of years, but they have this kick a** booth that you go in for like 10 min and you are super tan. Definately! What a shocker, I'm from Danville. In blackhawk, there is a place called Victoria's hair on stage. I love it! Also in Walnut Creek there is a hair salon called Phoenix...I prefer it more than victoria's, but victoria's is way closer. Oh and for the price, they are a bit pricy, but not overly expensive. and even those don't protect you completely, what it does is take away the harshness that sitting in a tanning bed can do to you. but if you're talking about sitting in a tanning bed and using the tanning lotion that they supply, then that's worse. most tanning creams have an spf of 4 or less. take care of your skin and stick to the sunless tan lotions with an spf of 15 or higher.

We all know the lecture that tanning is bad for you and so forth so forth. But I tan once a week and in order to do anything for my skin I'm really picky about the lotions I use. Some of them do offer UV protection you just have to carefully read the labels and pick which one you think meets your needs.
Some indoor tanning lotions do have spf in them. They say it on the label on the bottle of lotion. But most indoor tanning lotions do not have spf. So if they told you that your indoor tanning lotion has some spf, then they may be correct. So you need to look. But the spf is going to be low because the idea is to let the uv penetrate your skin so you can get your base tan started, and then get tan from there. Ask the salon you bought the lotion from what spf level you have. Conversely, if you are using a spray tan in a can, or a spray booth, they pretty much never have spf in the solution, and they will not protect you from uv rays.

a body/wave perm is one that doesn't really add curl, but more waves..or really really lose curls. it's supposed to give hella straight hair a bit of curl to it.

You could get a manicure, but men usually don't get the acrylics put on. I would suggest getting a product that you put on your nails that prevents you from biting them. I used to bite my nails all of the time, but I used some Sally Hansen nail biting stuff and stopped.

I don't think so, it really depends on the stylist, you definitely need to take a look at the stylist and see if they take care of themselves. A while back, I used to go to Regis Salon because the girls there did a great job with my hair, although very stuck up, then I went to another Regis Salon in another mall, and that lady butchered my hair real bad. I prefer salons that are in strip malls because they tend to have more selections in products and services like spa treatments and waxing services, plus parking is a plus, unlike the mall. But a friend of mine for a long time, works at an 8.00/haircut salon with her mom, and she does such a phenominal job on my hair all of the time. She gets all of business now. So you can even find great stylists at cheap salons, you just have to look and be very versatile with your hair. If you go to someone who is really good (which you want) someone who can make your hair grow, and use weaving methods that look good and natural not bulky and cheap, you are honestly looking at anywhere between 450 dollar to 2000 thousand dollars. You just gotta go down the list and call a ton of shops to make sure who is right for you. Also, see about maybe getting free consultations so you can see some of their work.

I don't see any way bacteria can grow in acetone. I wouldn't worry about it, unless you see somebody bleeding into it and you have a cut on your finger, but acetone is not a friendly environment to germs. And always wash your hands no matter what.
fungus is very common in nail salons. Most salons have a extra charge to get your own tools so no one else will use them but you. Now not all salons have this. My friend went to the nail salon all the time and she always used what everyone else used and got very nasty looking nails. They were sticking up and green and brown colored. If you go to a salon alot see if they can get you your own tool set. If not try to find another nail salon!

i always use acetone to remove nail polish unless it comes off by itself. my mom said that if u use it too much, something bad will happen to ur nails i think. always wash ur hands after. u shouldn't think too much about anything bugs and stuff growing in the acetone. and don't let the acetone get on ur skin.good luck! i hope this helps.
I have no idea what acetone is or if it has any disinfecting properties, but even if it doesn't those things are gross and I wouldn't use them.





Just think how unsanitary EVERYTHING is in a salon. Make up...they use the same brushes and makeup on everyone...when is the last time you saw a hairdresser disinfect a hair brush? Please...especially at those cheap $10 hair cut places...talk about passing on lice or psoriasis or whatever. Gross, gross, gross...the less time I spend in places like that the better. I can do my own home treatments!!

they are usually different brands that you most likly won't be able to buy online or at your local store because they are bought straight from the company in large qualities for bulk sale. you may find similar products are you local cvs or walgreens. also the cream after is normally a vasaline or something close to it. before they use a cooling lotion. Dove carries one that is very very similar.





i recommend that you don't wax your eyebrows yourself unless you have had prior experiance. it is VERY risky, you just just get a professional waxed once and groom in frequently.

Hi. I do not own a tanning salon but I have a lot of experience in marketing. I advised a dry cleaning business owner on a promotional idea which may work for your business.





We calculated that, on average, a new customer would patronize his dry cleaner 7 times. So we devised a marketing campaign (postcard mailings) to attract new customers by offering to dry clean 1 article of clothing for free. We knew he would make his money back because of the repeat business.





You can implement a similar idea by offering a free tanning session for new customers with no strings attached. Schedule the tanning sessions when its not so busy. Post flyers in the local gyms, bars, etc., announcing your great value proposition.





Another promotional idea is referrals. If you are not already doing it, ask your existing customers to refer people. You can offer them an incentive by giving away 1 free tanning session for every person referred, provided that the person buys a tanning package.

You certainly have a mission on your hands. Because you should always go to a salon thats familiar with your hair type and you probably wont be able to do that

I'm looking for tanning salons near the Blossom Hill/Almaden Expressway/Coleman Road area. Are there any that take walk-ins and don't require a membership? What are the costs per session?Tanning Salons near Coleman Rd/Almaden Expressway?
There is one that I used to go to that's called Australia Tan on Blossom Hill and Almaden across from Denny's. It's in the shopping center with Payless, Togo's, Baja Fresh, and Tap Plastics. I don't know what they charge per session anymore cause I haven't been there for a couple of years, but they have this kick a** booth that you go in for like 10 min and you are super tan. I used to have a membership for like $30 a month for unlimited. I think they were charging about $6-7 a session when I went there. I'm too poor to tan anymore with 2 kids!!!!

The hair must not touch the ground, and needs to be placed and sealed in a plastic bag. The address to where it can be sent is on the website and you can even get a certificate for donating. Its a rewarding experience!

a funky color is cool but dreads talk about not good for your hair all they do is tease it and matt it up and it will seriosly damage your hair and if you got them you'd have to be aware that once you get them done you cant get them out the only way to get them out is by cutting them out and it would be a long tim to get them out considering your hair only grows a half an inch per month
