Why Are There So Many Vietnamese Nail Salons?

Why are there so many Vietnamese nail salons?

And when you go to one do you ever feel like some of the ladies are talking about you?

You know somone is when they are talking and laughing and looking right at you.

This is a silly question but yesterday I went to a nail salon to get my eyebrows waxed and realized that 95% of hair/nail salons in town were Vietnamese owned. Why Are There So Many Vietnamese Nail Salons?
Well to answer your question Nail salons are part of Vietnamese business that just like Chinese restaurant and other Asian niche. My friend whom I lived with and known for years and she does nails for living. Majority of the time their not talking about the customer its easier for most Vietnamese to talk in the native language sometime because most of the employees in the nail salon doesn't speak English really well. They actual talk about normal things on a daily basis.Well if you piss them off yeah just like anybody would do they will talk about you.Nail salons are Vietnamese niche. Why Are There So Many Vietnamese Nail Salons?
the market is there!

I don't care if they are talking about me.

I think they can talk all they want while they clip my toenails.
nail and beauty salons are usually run by asian ladies i noticed
I have often wondered the same thing and felt the same way. The salons are usually family run and operated, and the tv's never work! I think it is very impolite the way they all talk to each other in another language right in front of you.

I don't think there is any special training, and am not sure about licences. I know they are inspected by health departments.

I have lately been paying more and going to a spa where I am treated right.
Yep that is so true there are alot of vietnamiese nail salons here, and lots of the time I do feel they are talking about me it must be teir voice tone, it kinda sounds harsh.
noticed that too lol

yea i notice the chit chat they do sometimes too lol, but it doesn't always mean their talking about you! lol
The city I lived in had mostly Vietnamese nail salons, which I patronized regularly! If you live in cities where there are a lot of recent immigrants, you will see women in businesses where they can get by with minimum English. Vietnamese people are very enterprising, and get right into the work force. No, they are not talking about you. They like to talk with each other, and would like to talk with you, if they could! They want to keep an eye on you, to make sure you are getting service. Talk to them while you are being served, so they can improve their English. They would appreciate it.
